A wonderfully complex world that follows a large cast of characters. While this can sound a little overwhelming, the novel is paced quite leasurely, and the cast is wide and allows for wonderful relation. With a bittersweet tone, and descriptive writing style, we follow characters such as artists, archivists, and thieves.
An accidental discovery leads Elodie, an archivist, to a house depicted in the mysterious photographs. The house reveals secrets of the previous occupants throughout time, and a story unfolds revealing their own piece in a fascinating history full of spirits, mystery, and the fierce love of family.
